In soap and cosmetics, they clean, emulsify, condition, thicken, opacify, improve spreading, foam and solubilize. Some are even anti-microbial.
If your first instinct is to think you would never use surfactants, think again. You not only use them, but they could open a whole new world of making. If you sell, you can add to your product line.
